So let's just get this little doozy out of the way first...
Devendra Banhart - Carmensita
Yay!
Oh and by the way (btw) I'm pretty sure the blue Kali god is Kat Dennings. I mean you can see Ms. Portman and Mr. Banhart there for sure, but she somehow slipped into this video to, making it that much more awesome. Kat Dennings...to tired to post a link...is the girl daughter from 40 Year Old Virgin and was in Charlie Bartlett. She's also gorgeous I think I heart her. Luckily I'm stopping myself from becoming a creepy fanboy and stalk her website, but maybe just maybe if I super impose a picture of my face on her body I could create an image so shocking that it would have to cause some sort of feedback. Meh...I'm to tired and seducing beautiful movie stars takes up to much effort. You just dodged a bullet there Ms. Dennings...

Summer is here
Summer is finally here in full force. It has become 2-3 shower days here in Fresno. Yiiikes. My body seems perfectly content to sleep away through the hot hours of the day, however my mind thinks that this is a lazy, waste of time and should not be tolerated. I need more things to do during the day, or more like a slave driver type of person standing over me with a whip making me get up and move around all day. Oh well...I can't afford that nor do I trust someone who would do it for free.
Videos.
Sigur Ros
Gobbledigook
Try to find the spliced in images of un-naked bodies. So risqué.
So The Fiery Furnaces are awesome. Don't believe me? Well this one time I saw them live and they played every song completely different from the album recording. Still don't think I know it all? Check it.
Tropical Island
Just watching her makes me feel a little bit cooler. Summer time!

Discovering Music
Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I am NOT a music expert. I may have a radio show but I'm pretty sure thats a fluke and I'll be discovered at any moment for not being a indie music expert. At least that means I can get excited about music that has been out and about for a while now...kind of like this song by The Knife. Stuff is good kiddies, real good.
The Knife - Heartbeats
80's children being totally radical.
The Knife - We Share Our Mothers Health
Red and black are my favorite colours! (spelled UK style because it's tight like that).

Radiohead
Radiohead covering Portishead - The Rip
A very nice cover.
And a new Radiohead song. Really good stuff and freshly debuted. Thom is playing the keys, too.

Meatball Magic Mix
First let me explain this whole Meatball Magic for those who are unfamiliar. There is a bar here in Fresno, CA that has a wonderful Indie/Electro/80's dance night every other Friday.
The Red Lantern
Pretty fun stuff. I got a chance to play DJ there for the first time last night. I say play DJ because I'm anything but a real DJ. But I wanted to let every take a peek at what kind of music you might here there. Here is my set list/dance mix from that night.
1. Piles of Gold - The Blow
2. D.A.N.C.E. - Justice/MSTRKRFT
3. Crimewave (Crystal Castles vs Health) - Health
4. I Got a Man - Hot Chip (DJ Kicks)
5. Creator - Santogold
6. Jerk It - Thunderheist
7. A Cause Des Garcon (tepr mix) - YELLE
8. Ah La La (The Pseudo Remix) - CSS
9. The French Open - Foals
10. Bird Flu - M.I.A.
11. Blind - Hercules and Love Affair
12. Archangel (8bit Boy Remix) - Burial
13. Around the World/Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk
14. Kids - MGMT
15. Ceolakanth is Android - Polysics/MSTRKRFT
And now you can have it.

Meatball Magic!
In case you missed it...
90.7 KFSR + Meatball Magic = Masterful Mixes
I will be uploading the set list and the songs I played from that night here as soon as I figure out this MegaUpload stuff. Shouldn't be too hard but I have to take off...stay tuned.

23
No, not Blonde Redhead...ME! May 30th, I turned 23 years old! It was a ton of fun. My friend Richard made an awesome flier for the party..check it out at down there somewhere.
So this is going on this Friday.
My first and maybe only DJ spot at Meatball Magic. You know it, you love it. Here's hoping I will get some good dance music going on. Not quite sure what I'm going to play yet.
By the way, this blog was started to bring more attention to 90.7 KFSR here in Fresno, CA...specifically my spot every Tuesday from 9pm-Midnight. So why not go check out what kind of music we play...here's the link.
Click whatever day you want to see what we played!
Yeah, we also have a myspace.

Besides that...really loving being 23!
The flier!

Destroyer was...
Destroyer was amazing. I was so happy.
So highlights from the night...
Devon Williams was part singer part stand up comedian.
Not having to go to the bar to buy drinks (thanks neon totting waitress).
Richard claims the set list early in the night.
Destroyer opens with Crystal Country? Nice.
Dan Bejar...this is sweeter than candy.
Wow, totally made Dan laugh. That was sweet. (check below for the full conversation)
And heres a picture!
>
And I got a shirt!
Ok, since nothing else is really going on besides the radio show (Tuesday nights from 9pm to Midnight! 90.7 FM if you are in the Fresno area, otherwise go to KFSR.org and steam it), here are some cool videos.
Portishead - The Rip
Pogo - Alice
The New Pornographers - Myriad Harbor
So heres how it went down. Dan Bejar is seen by some as a "pretentious, drunken twit." Ouch. I agree with the first two. Pretentious? Yes. Drunken? Sometimes. Twit? Not quite. So...
Dan: "Do you guys like dinner?"
Crowd: "Yeah!!!"
Dan: "Dinner is bullshit."
Crowd: "Uuhhh..."
Me: "Yeah!! FUCK DINNER!"
Dan: (chuckingly) "Wow, it's just I've never heard anyone say something like that before."
Ok, so my completely self-centered moment of glory is over now. A great memory...hope I can interview that man someday for the station. That would be the bee's knees.

Trouble in Dreams Tour 2008
Only 8 hours until I will be watching Destroyer live! I have to admit that I only recently became a huge fan of Destroyer, but didn't really expect to see them anytime soon. Thank you Mr. Bejar for coming out with a new CD which caused the tour. Thanks for coming to California! I think there will be pictures to come from tonight...I plan on getting a little wild.

Blog Numero Uno
Drama! Action!! Suspense! Love? Danger! Intrigue!
Now that I have your attention. This is the first blog post of Omnivores. I wish I had a better idea of what the content will actually be, but right now we cannot be sure. I know that it will definitely have be influences by music and life here in the San Joaquin Valley of California. What ever else makes its way on these pages managed to get lucky. So stay tuned for cool things like pictures, cool things on the internet, and reviews of albums, local shows and movies.
More to come...
